Automated staff scheduling for a regional health clinic
API-integrated scheduling app that assigns the right employee to the right shift—strategy plus serious custom build.
Context
A regional health clinic with rotating staff and complex coverage rules.
Problem
Manual scheduling consumed manager hours each week. Coverage gaps appeared when PTO, credentials, or shift preferences conflicted—and changes rippled through text threads instead of a single source of truth.
What we advised and built
Mapped constraints (roles, certifications, availability, fairness rules), integrated employee data via APIs, and built a lightweight app that runs a solver to propose valid assignments managers can approve or adjust.
Outcome
Scheduling moved off spreadsheets and ad-hoc texts into an owned workflow. Managers spend less time rebuilding schedules from scratch; the clinic has a repeatable process as staff and rules change.
